Best Graphics Tablets for Beginner and Professional Artists and Designers

When searching for the best graphics tablet suitable for your needs, there are several things that need to be considered. These may seem like they are not important, but buying a bigger tablet just because you think it's better is just one of the common mistakes people make. That's right - mistakes. So, you wonder, what must you consider before you take your money and spend it on a drawing tablet? There are some simple points to think about that are crucial before you grab your wallet, and now you will understand why. As a graphics artist, I have noticed that the number one mistake people make when ordering their tablet is buying the biggest one they can afford - this is a big no-no.

A big surface graphics tab may sound good to most, and sometimes we may even go ahead and conclude that if the tablet is more expensive than surely it is better, but this is a huge trap. So how do we pick the perfect surface size for our graphics tablet? Simple.

Think about the size of your strokes when you draw. Do you make large strokes? Yes? Then go on ahead and get that large surface tablet, it will be good for you. But most people need a medium, or even a small graphics tablet surface. I use a medium sized tablet, but a small one was good for me too.

Think about the strokes you make before you buy. Next thing we need to consider is the pen stylus. Is the stylus light? Does it have a battery in it? Is it attached to the graphics tablet? You may want a non-attached stylus with no battery to make it too heavy, but that all depends on your budget. Next is the pressure sensitivity.

There are tablets with 256, 512, 1024 or 2048 pressure sensitivity levels, but currently the most common tablets all have the fantastic 1024 levels, which are more than enough for practically anything. Unless you are a serious graphics designer with higher demands, you probably won't need the 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity.

The last thing I recommend considering several times before deciding is, of course, the price. While it is possible to find an excellent graphics tablet for a relatively good and low price, in my experience it is best to keep your budget in mind and work with it.

You can find a fantastic graphics tablet in all price ranges if you consider your options carefully, and here are some graphics tablet recommendations for beginner and professional graphics artists to help them find exactly what they need. Remember, no matter how well you know this area and how good your knowledge about graphics tablets and accessories is, try to be careful and go through these steps regardless. You can never be too cautious with your money.
